Ellis Partners Announces Another Wave of New Tenants as The Pruneyard Realizes Its Renaissance
CAMPBELL, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Pruneyard is abuzz with new retail and restaurant tenants as the property completes its first phase of construction, elevating this Bay Area landmark’s shopping, dining and entertainment options.
Ellis Partners purchased The Pruneyard, a 27-acre mixed-use shopping center, which includes 365,000 square feet of Class A office space, 253,000 square feet of retail and restaurants, and a 170-room DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton in 2014. Located at East Campbell and South Bascom avenues, The Pruneyard had not been updated for nearly 20 years, but Ellis Partners saw the potential in the vintage collection of low slung Spanish-Mediterranean style buildings similar to Town & Country Village in Palo Alto, another property in their portfolio.
The property, which began a major renovation in January 2017, has been reimagined into a community gathering place framed by new and updated retail and a host of dining options. Pedestrian walkways have improved circulation through the center and offer better connectivity between the surrounding neighborhoods, the office towers, hotel and parking. New landscaping, way-finding and monument signage have been added as well as comfortable seating and gathering places throughout the property. The entirely new central plaza also incorporates a multi-purpose raised platform that can be used for seating or be activated for entertainment, events and programming.
